COMMERCIAL BIRD WORK

Start with the building.
Then choose the system.

Bird-proofing proposals depend on the affected area, bird activity, access and how the building is used.

A useful survey brief.

Share the height, shape and use of the affected area. Include access restrictions, occupied spaces below, nearby entrances and any existing proofing.

A safely taken ground-level photograph can show more than a close-up of one ledge. Do not climb or disturb a nest to obtain it.

Different areas need different solutions.

OptionWhat needs assessing
Bird spikesLedge dimensions, surface, fixings, appearance and cleaning access.
NettingArea geometry, suitable anchor points, access and ongoing inspection.
Roofline workSafe access, building condition, species and nesting activity.

BEYOND INSTALLATION

Agree who looks after the system.

Confirm the installation boundary, permissions, access equipment, inspection arrangements and maintenance responsibilities. A damaged or poorly maintained system needs attention, not just a new photograph.
