Wasps
Usually smooth-bodied, with a narrow waist and bright yellow-and-black markings. Repeated traffic to one external opening is useful to report.
LINCOLNSHIRE PEST CONTROL
A calm, prepared response to a visible nest route — without asking you to get any closer than is safe.

FIND THE FLIGHT ROUTE SAFELY

From a safe distance, stand still in different parts of the garden or outside space for a couple of minutes. Look for repeated traffic in and out of the same opening in a soffit, wall, shed or roofline. Do not approach, block or try to treat the opening yourself.
WASP OR BEE?
Usually smooth-bodied, with a narrow waist and bright yellow-and-black markings. Repeated traffic to one external opening is useful to report.
Hairier and rounder than a wasp, often with more muted colouring. We do not treat honey bees; a local beekeeping organisation may be able to advise on relocation.
For a honey-bee swarm, the British Beekeepers Association’s swarm guidance can help you find local advice. Volunteer swarm collection does not cover every bee species or established nest inside a building. The linked guide includes bee photographs.
Do not get close enough for a picture. If you already have a safe photo from a distance, it can help us discuss the next step.
BEFORE AND AFTER THE APPOINTMENT
Follow the appointment instructions for nearby doors and windows and keep away from the treated area for the specified period. Exclusion arrangements depend on the actual treatment and site. Ask whether inactive-nest removal is included or whether leaving it in place is appropriate.
